If you think about giving it a go you may want to know a bit more about who I am.
I’m an integrative and relational psychotherapist registered with the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP). What does it mean? I hear you asking.
UKCP registration means that my training, work and professional development are regularly scrutinised by the UKCP, so you can be sure you’re being offered high quality psychotherapy.
Being a relational psychotherapist means that I use our relationship as the basis for the therapeutic work and I pay attention to your relationships in the world. These include relationships with others – at present and in the past – and the relationship you have with yourself.
Integrative means that instead of following only one school of psychotherapy I blend the various theories into a framework that is aligned with who I am and through that works best for my clients.
For me emotional health is about ability to form satisfactory relationships with others, experiencing a full range of emotions, knowing, respecting and trusting yourself and being flexible in our responses to whatever life brings. If this is where you want to get I’m here to help you on your way.
I have over ten years of experience working in mental health services in the UK. I’ve worked in psychiatric hospitals, voluntary organisations providing counselling and psychotherapy, and since the beginning of 2012 in private practice. Being a psychotherapist isn’t only a profession, it’s my passion.
